Investing in the REALTOR PAC is a powerful way to invest in your business and the clients you serve.

Candidates who share our values of vibrant communities, housing choices, and economic vitality cannot be elected or re-elected without the support from the REALTOR PAC.

 

The REALTOR Political Action Committee (RPAC) supports endorsed candidates on the local, state, and national levels.

 

What does the REALTOR PAC do for you?

  •  Insured that Real Estate was exempt from the state Capital Gains Tax.
  • While other businesses were stalled on the sideline, REALTORS got approval to work during the COVID-19 lockdown in a way that was safe for you and your clients.
  • REALTORS were able to immediately clarify rules around property management and other affiliated services while other industries struggled to understand the regulations they were facing.
  • Exempted REALTORS from a 20% increase in the B&O Tax you pay, putting $250-$500 back in the pocket of our members each year.
  • Protected REALTORS Independent Contractor Status.
  • Beat back a bill that would have required all in-house transactions to involve attorneys for both the seller and the buyer.
  • Reformed Condo Liability Laws so that more affordable condominiums can be built.
  • Passed a bill that encourages cities to allow responsible density - things like accessory dwelling units, duplexes and triplexes in single family zones and more.

Washington Realtors Political Action Committee

Contributions to Washington REALTORS RPAC are voluntary and are used for political purposes; they are not deductible for income tax purposes. The National Association of REALTORS or any of its state associations or local boards will not favor or disfavor any member because of the amount contributed. 70% of each contribution is used by your state PAC to support state and local political candidates. Until your state reaches its RPAC goal, 30% is sent to National RPAC to support federal candidates and is charged against your limits under 2 U.S. C. 441a. Decisions regarding Washington REALTORS RPAC contributions to meet the Federal RPAC Disbursement Allocation will be made throughout the fundraising year. The contributor certifies that they are at least 18 years old and are making this contribution with their own personal funds - not those of another person or entity, nor are they a foreign national or federal contractor.
